The following is a compilation of the most stimulating internet links which are related to the life and work of Rembrandt van Rijn. In fact, it does not seem useful to list all Rembrandt-related sites since a large number of them offer little more than a few poor quality scans and the barest information. New websites, which merit to be brought to the attention of Rembrandt enthusiasts, will be added as the are discovered. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Rembrandt's late Religious Portraits  (Flash required)
An elegant special-feature about Rembrandt's late religious portraits by the National Gallery of Art (Washington D.C.). This feature presents a brief but informative text and 17 images which can be zoomed in order to inspect each canvas in great detial. Includes brief biography.

Detroit Instituteof Arts: Rembrandt's Etchings
More than 50 works of Rembrandt, mostly etchings, are listed in the collection's catalogue. The pectacular zoom feature for close observation of all works cannot be missed.

Rijksmuseum: Rembrandt van Rijn
The Rijksmuseum possesses one of the most complete collections of Dutch 17th-century painting including masterworks by Rembrandt. The website offers 34 excellent images of selected Rembrandt paintings, drawings and etchings plus explanatory notes about each work. A very valuable resource is the complete on-line catalogue of Rembrandt-related publications housed in the Rijksmusem library, one of the most extensive art libraries in the world.

CODART: World-Wide Rembrandt Events
CODART offers a wide range of services regarding Dutch and Flemish art. On 15 July 2006, the world celebrates the 400th birthday of Rembrandt van Rijn. The master is being honored on this occasion by many special exhibitions. CODART is keeping track of these events. Now listed are 60 events.
